Weekly Vocabulary

Triangle of Exposure: Comprises aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. They work together to regulate the amount of light that makes it to the light-sensitive surface and the sensitivity of that surface.


Metadata: A set of data describing and providing information about rights of an image. It allows information to be transported with an image file, in a way that can be understood by other software and people.

White Balance: The process of removing unrealistic color casts, so that objects which appear white in person are rendered white in your photo. White balance has to take into account the "color temperature" of a light source, which refers to the warmth of white light.
