Resolution

The detail an image holds. Higher resolution means more image detail. Image resolution can be measured in various ways. 

PPI 

The Pixels Per Inch. It measures the number of pixels per line per inch in a digital photo.

DPI

The dots per inch; The number of dots of ink per inch that a printer deposits onto a piece of paper.
